Season Dates

Schedule Summary

The season will consist of 10 weeks starting in September and ending in December. The exact play schedule will be posted on the RESULTS section on the website.

DIVISION 4 will be Fridays, 7PM - 10PM at Pan Pacific Park

DIVISION 3 will be Wednesdays, 7PM - 10PM at WeHo Park

WOMENS’ will be Thursdays, 7PM - 10PM at Pan Pacific Park

*Length may vary depending on total teams registered.

Individual Registration: $70/player

League Player Substitution: Free

You are highly encouraged to have a team of at least 8 to ensure you have 4 core players each night during pool play to satisfy the Core 4 requirement.

*One team consists of 6 players.

RATING FORMAT

Each Division during league may have up to two (2) higher-rated players on their team. See the summary below and refer to the ratings page for more details.

Division 4 - may consist of two (2) BB-rated players and the remaining may be B-rated players.

Division 3 - may consist of two (2) A-rated players and the remaining BB or B players.

Division 2 - may consist of two (2) AA-rated players and any lower division players.

Women's D3 - Teams MAY include 2 WD4 rated players. Captains draft players.

Women's D4 - Team captains form their own teams.

GAME FORMAT

Six teams in one division will be considered a 'full' division.

All Teams will play every week and teams will be playing for total games won (not matches) during the season. Each team will play three (3) games, regardless of outcome, against one other team per night. You have one hour to warm-up and play your three games. Games will be 4-25 (27 cap).

Top four (4) teams will make it to playoffs in a full division.

Playoffs will be played on a best-of-three format.

Disclosures

  REFUND POLICY: Full refunds will be issued to players who do not make it on a team prior to the start of the first season game. After that, no refunds will be issued to confirmed players who withdraw from the league for any reason.

  OFFICIALS: Peer-to-peer referring is required during the season. Non-playing officials will be provided for at finals. Each team is required to have a certified Scorekeeper and a certified Referee on the team roster. Certification may be obtained by the following:

1. Certified by a recognized organization such as USAV and NAGVA. ID (proof of certification is required) for both scorekeepers or R1.
2. Attend a LAVO clinic on Scorekeeping (watch the Scorekeeping video in the REFERENCE section under the INFO tab prior to attending.)
3. Attend a LAVO clinic on R-1 (watch the Scorekeeping video in the REFERENCE section under the INFO tab prior to attending) or demonstrate your knowledge hand signals and understanding of rules of being an R-1 to the League Manager.

  UNIFORMS: Uniforms are required for all league teams as this helps with the referee and scorekeeper assignment. All teams participating in the tournament must wear same color and numbered uniform/jersey attire. T-shirts or any same-colored option is acceptable. Players’ jerseys must be marked with numbers on the front and on the back. Numbers shall be located in such a position that they are clearly visible and shall be a color contrasting to that of the jersey. Liberos must have a contrasting color to the rest of the team.

LAVO has preferred pricing with Offside Sports on uniforms. Rates are $15 per jersey that include shirt, team name, and numbering. Please contact Juan at Offside Sports for details.
