WOMEN DIVISION REGISTRATION EXEMPTION
The women's division being offered at the WSF tournament is exempt from the NAGVA rules and regulations in place for the men's division. LAVO will be charged with administering registration and rules and regulations.
FIRST TIME PLAYING IN A NAGVA TOURNAMENT?
Because this tournament is NAGVA sanctioned, each person on your team must register with NAGVA individually as a member. LAVO is merely the hosting organization. There is an annual registration due and will cover you from date of purchase until Memorial Day weekend when their yearly season concludes. The fee is $35/person. To create an account with NAGVA, it can be done by following the "click here to register" link on the NAGVA homepage (www.nagva.org). When you register, you will receive a NAGVA number that you will then use to build your roster for a tournament. It’s free to create an account but you must be an active member by paying your “dues” for the current season. Women's division is exempt from all NAGVA fees due to no official division offering within NAGVA. Registration for Women's division will be handled by LAVO Commissioner Mary Velis (mary@playlavo.org).
In addition to the individual registration, you need to register your team with NAGVA annually. This is a $40 annual fee. This only needs to be done by the team captain. You accomplish this by first registering as an individual. Once you are registered, you will log into the system and follow the "My NAGVA" link. At the bottom of that page will be an option for you to register a new team. Once you have completed this registration, a gold star will appear by your NAGVA number at the top of the page when you log into the system. You will click on this star to manage your team for the rest of the season.
Once you have a team registered with NAGVA, you will need to register that team for the Los Angeles tournament. You do this by clicking on that gold star. When you click on it, you will see the team you have registered and will click on that team name. This will take you to a page with some drop down lists. First select the tournament you want to play in "WeHo Sports Festival," and then select the division you want to register for "AA Open" and then click the "add team" button. This will add your team to the team list for the WeHo Sports Festival tournament and you will be able to see your team name listed as pending on the Los Angeles page of the NAGVA website.
You can now build your roster for the tournament by again following the gold star and clicking on the team name. This time you will see the Los Angeles tournament in the "Registered Tournaments" section at the bottom of the page. You will click on the tournament name which will take you to a page where you will enter the individual player's NAGVA numbers to add them to your roster.
In order to be confirmed for the tournament, you will need to pay the tournament fee to the Los Angeles tournament. This is not an individual fee, but one lump sum coming from someone on the team. You do this by using the PayPal button above from this webpage and follow the "Click here to pay your team fee" button. Once your team fee is received by the tournament, the tournament director will list your team as confirmed on the NAGVA website.
To pay the tournament fee, you do not need to have your roster completed or all the players registered with NAGVA. You can do that as soon as you would like.
It sounds like a long tedious process, but it's actually pretty easy.
